Louisa Light: “I Lived Five Lives in One”
I Counted the Valleys and Forgot the Peaks
For decades, I felt lonely and betrayed.
I was betrayed many times. For money. For trust.
I wanted to get rid of this curse. The poverty. The loneliness. It seemed to follow me for more than 20 years.
So I looked at my life closer than ever before.
I found something I did not expect.
I was in these valleys because of my nature.
I am curious.
I take risks.
I am independent, like Columbus.
When people warned me, I did not listen. I thought I knew better.
That nature cost me a lot.
But it also gave me this that most people will never experience:
At 16, I crossed the Alps on a small scooter to Italy and France.
I went to Findhorn.
I studied at Emerson College and the Artistic Therapy Center.
I ran two wholesale businesses, one for environmental products and one for health products.
I traveled around the world.
I flew over 200 times alone with my paraglider in at least four countries.
I co-founded The Hunger Project in Germany.
I did an internship in the San Francisco office.
I learned Esperanto and…
