About Me — R. Brady Frost
Author of the Series, A Battle Mage Reborn, and other Science Fiction and Fantasy Titles.
As anyone who has ever been asked to provide a Bio about themselves would know, writing this ‘About Me’ post has been difficult, but not for the reasons you might immediately think.
Buckle up, folks. This is going to be one hell of a ride!
You see, I am a writer. A Published Author, even. I have authored and published two books of my own, both in the series A Battle Mage Reborn, and I co-wrote a shared-world book with my son, Gryphon, titled The Weakest Frost Mage.
That last book was a massive highlight in my writing journey thus far because I had both the honor and challenge of writing it with my son, an experience that pit my identity as a writer against my identity as a father in a way that fundamentally changed how I view myself in both roles.
(I expect to write more about that experience in the future, and will update this post with a link once I have.)
But I’m not just a writer.
I’m a father and a husband, of course, and I still work full time at a job that I’m reasonably good at… So, I’m also an employee and a team member, sometimes even a mentor.
I hold professional certifications, to include: Certified Ethical Hacker and Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator, among others. With an MBA and a Master’s degree in Information Security and Assurance (Cybersecurity) from Western Governors University under my belt, I suppose you could say that I’m a bit of a scholar.
Though, some who know me would likely scoff at the idea.
Why? Because I’m also a bit of a jokester.

I’m a veteran of the United States Air Force, from which I received an Honorable discharge after serving for five and a half years. So I’ve been a soldier, a Distinguished Graduate of Airman Leadership School, a Sergeant, a supervisor, and — last but not least — a Waterwalker (3C2, IYKYK).
I’ve lived in a few different states, so I’ve also been a Utahn, an Alaskan, and even a Texan. And after spending four years in the second-largest state (Texas), I’ve once again moved back home to Northern Utah, where I currently plan to stay.
I can feel at home struggling up a mountain on a hike with my wife. But I can just as easily enjoy my time playing video games, either solo or with my kids. So, I guess I’m also a bit of a gamer.
I like adventure and travel. I’ve been to many places, and I’ve seen many things. Beautiful things, strange things, marvelous things, but sometimes even horrible things…
Yeah… it’s confusing. Right? Sometimes I can’t help but wonder…
Who am I?
And that’s a question I believe many of us find ourselves asking from time to time. So, I guess that even though we might have different accomplishments and we probably come from vastly different backgrounds; we aren’t that different, you and I.
My Writing
I write Speculative Fiction within the bounds of SFF, or Science Fiction and Fantasy, mostly. My published books are currently all considered LitRPG, or Literary Role-Playing Game, a relatively new genre that combines the elements of traditional role-playing games with the narrative qualities of traditional fiction narratives you’d find in any other sort of book.
How does that work, exactly?
In essence, my main character dies in his version of real life and finds himself uploaded into a digital afterlife that he never asked for. It’s an afterlife filled with quests and monsters, swords and sorcery, and both friends and foes that he meets along the way as his new life in EndWorld Everlasting unfolds.
Now that you know a little more about who I am and what I write, I think we might be on the right track. But, if you find that you aren’t quite satisfied, you can always check out my About Me page on my blog.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this quirky introduction. If you liked it and find me at least somewhat interesting, please follow me and check back often because, no matter what, we’re going places!
