About Me — The Woman Behind the Words
A quiet woman, a busy mind and the story of how I found my way back to writing.
Some people know me as a quiet person. Some know me as someone who likes to keep to herself. But there is a whole lot happening inside me that people may never see.
My name is Onyinye Rosemary, but I write under the name Assumpta Rose. I am a Nigerian writer from Anambra State, and writing has been a part of me for much longer than I realised. I started writing stories when I was thirteen, stopped for a while, and somehow found my way back to it years later.
So, before you read more of my stories, I thought I should let you meet the woman behind the words.
I have always been a quiet person. I am an introvert, a thinker, and, if I am being honest, a serious overthinker. While other people are quick to speak, I usually take my time. I watch, I listen, and I notice things. I notice the way people speak and, sometimes, even more, the things they don't say. There is usually a lot going on inside me, even when I look like I am doing nothing.
My mind is full of ideas, questions, possibilities, and entire worlds that exist only inside my head. Sometimes I have so much to say, but the words don't come out the way I want them to. I am very shy and I am not…
