I have many years of hands-on experience in the people profession and living and working in many countries with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds!
I moved to Qatar from Lebanon, then the Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, and Erbil-Kurdistan. I also had the chance to live in Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, the Philippines, and Mauritania while working as a humanitarian for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Geneva, Switzerland.
As a researcher, I am interested in strategic human resources management and human resources technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics and their impact on today’s and tomorrow’s employees, their well-being, productivity, and development.
I am also interested in the future of hospitality jobs and have published academic papers on the topic.
In alignment with my expertise and research interests, I teach human resources management, organisational behaviour, and strategic human resources management in the Bachelor's and Master’s Program of a University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. I also facilitate learning and coach students as part of their career development.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking for family and friends. I also volunteer as a personal coach and offer pro-bono coaching.
I am also a Chartered Member (MCIPD) of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential-holder from the International Coach Federation (ICF), and a member of the Academy of International Hospitality Research (AIHR) and the Institute of Hospitality (IoH).
Through this space, I want to share my writings, thoughts and ideas with you, maybe offer a bit of inspiration, but for sure, debate and exchange ideas!
