“That’s interesting” is the worst review that can happen to you

You and I have something in common. We have never met, yet we both partake in the same activity. What connects us both is something none of the people who lived in the millenia before us had.

We were not born to be distilling gold during the Gold Rush. Nor were we born to be distilling whiskey for smuggling during the Prohibition. In our age, we were born to distill ideas from information; what we have in common is, we both live in the Information Age.

Unfortunately, that does not mean we were born knowing how to live in it. Think about the countless times a friend of yours read an article written by you and said “That’s interesting”. Think about the countless times you have read an article and said the same. That shows, while we understand the value of the information we consume, we do not know what to do with it. I always got a strange feeling of anxiety knowing I found a precious idea but not knowing what to do with it, I will soon forget it and it will be lost.
