The book I never thought I’d be able to write
Why now. Why this book.
When I was just a girl, I carried a dream so big it scared everyone around me.
Don’t do it, they said.
You’re too young.
It’s too dangerous.
You’ll regret it.
But I didn’t listen.

I couldn’t.
Something inside me was louder than all their warnings.
I fought for that dream, step by shaky step, and it changed everything. It cost me sleepless nights, tears, fears, and a loneliness I didn’t know I could survive. I paid a high price. But it was worth it.
Now, all these years later, I’m finally writing about it. In German — my native language. Because this story is carved into me, and it belongs in the words closest to my heart. For so long, I couldn’t write it. It was too heavy, too raw, too close. But suddenly, it feels like the right time. Almost as if the younger me is sitting beside me, whispering: Tell it now. You’re ready.
This book is my therapy. My truth. The laughter, the heartbreak, the moments I thought I’d break — and the proof that dreams are worth fighting for, even when no one believes in you.
And now, I finally get to share it with you.
Have a great day,
Katrin
